- Which cardboard should I choose for packaging?
- For premium boxes and folding cartons — solid board SBS/GC1; for shipping — corrugated; for eco and food service — kraft. The weight of the product, the way it travels and how the print should look decide.
- What is SBS board?
- SBS (Solid Bleached Sulphate) is solid board made from bleached virgin pulp — smooth and uniformly white on both sides. It gives the truest print, which is why it goes into cosmetic, jewellery and premium packaging.
- What is the difference between board and corrugated cardboard?
- Board is a single rigid layer; corrugated has a fluted layer between two flat ones, which cushions. Board for presentation, corrugated for transport.
- What does grammage mean?
- Grammage is the weight of a square metre in grams (g/m²). Higher means thicker and stiffer material — but also a higher price and a heavier parcel.
- Which material is the most ecological?
- The one that can go into paper collection without separating layers. Mono-material board and paper beat laminates — and that is the direction PPWR is taking.
